This week’s mashups include an array of genres blended together in a seamless fashion. One of my favorites from this list would probably the mashup between Backstreet Boys and Paramore. It’s no secret that many people liked the pop boy bands of 90’s, including the Backstreet Boys. This track takes me back to a summer when I was still in high school and its nostalgia set the tone for making it a great mashup. This week’s Mashup Monday features tracks by home-grown favorites DJ Topsider and Dr. Brixx, along with newcomers DJ Matt and HBRT. The story behind why I chose HBRT’s track is because I thought of the idea of mashing the same instrumental and vocals in my head for awhile. In short, HBRT gave my idea justice. Check out the mashups below and be sure to support the artists by visiting their respective social media outlets.
This week’s Mashup Monday features comebacks of mashup friends that I’ve encountered and grew to know over the years. I first talked to PJ Carmack and December Nights on the social music site Turntable.fm. Although it became defunct website, I gained exposure to many genres and met many people who I still talk to today. A big shoutout goes to Mix-n-Mash and prior communities that shared the same mashup enthusiasm that I got when I first started listening to them. Be sure to check out the playlist below and support each artist by visiting their respective social media outlets.
