The Weeknd graces us with a new music video his new single The Hills. You may have heard this when he performed it at Coachella a couple of months ago. With a more grittier approach, The Weeknd was most likely inspired by Kanye West’s Yeezus album and Vine-driven viral hit CoCo by Genasis OT with its soundscape and interpolation of lyrics. This is the prime example of how trap music has infiltrated the music scene. Be sure to check out the video below and buy the new album Chapter III when it comes out this year

Last night, Taylor Swift stole the show with her record-breaking 8 awards at the Billboard Music Awards in the MGM Grand (which notably also held the Mayweather vs Pacquaio fight a few weeks ago). With the help of her friends that were featured in this music video, she premiered her production debut of her smash-hit single “Bad Blood” off of last year’s critically-acclaimed 1989. Many people will have mix reviews due to the video featuring instrumentation variation of the original track. Kendrick Lamar, as many will know, is probably one of Taylor Swift’s favorite rappers at the moment. He linked up with her for this 808 and trap-influenced remix and possibly created one of the biggest collaborations of 2015. It’s not the first time that Kendrick linked up with artists outside of his genre. Last year, Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons performed a live mashup performance of M.A.A.D. City/Radioactive (Remix) at the Grammys. Check out the video below and make sure to look out for a possible re-release of 1989 with this remix on it.
